With yet another quality party done and dusted, Kiss My Bass keeps things rolling with our next stellar event which will be upon us before you know it.

If your are unfamiliar with the format of Kiss My Bass its quite simple - breaks, electro and any dirty goodness inbetween brought to you on a beefy system by class djs. Some nice visual enhancements, an uber-involved crowd that seems to be swelling as each month goes by and a venue where you don’t have to part with a small fortune to get a bit tipsy complete what seems to be a winning formula.

Joining the residents this month we welcome Karl Lost of the Phatndurty and Phase2 crew alongside Ignition from the Out-Break and Infectious Breaks camp.

Karl Lost has been playing all over the show around this here city for as long as i can remember. He must nearly be as old as Udy (is that possible?) by now my maths suggest but that’s not the point here. Lost likes a good party and anyone who has seen him play out lately will confirm that his sets do a pretty fine job of creating such an enviroment.

Ignition has held various residencies around the local area since 1996 when he began his long relationship with djing by playing a bit of house in various bars around town. In 1998 he formed Illusion Promotions and started throwing regular parties of his own under various names including Transmission, 4Real, Spot On, Espirit and most recently Out-Break, which has just celebrated its third birthday. Ignition is also part of the Infectious Breaks collective, another decent night helping to push the breakbeat message by bringing down some high-profile artists. Two KMB friendly guests as you will certainly see/hear for yourselves.

Get on down to Havana this weekend for the next installment of the mighty Kiss My Bass. Nominated in the local rag for Best Club Night, expect greatness from the residents and two hot guests.

The nominations list is a mixture of well-established nights and a load of new efforts and the level is pretty damn high. We promised another fine party and blurred memory along with positive feedback informs us that we kept to our word. Now in its forth round at Havana, Kiss My Bass is back once again for more of the same, just as you have now come to expect from us. Joining residents Udy, Aimz, Eratik Behaviour and Fotza this time will be Phil Harvey (Waster, HKGC) and DJ Charge (Breakneck).

When Phil Harvey grows up he wants to be a fighter pilot but until that day we will continue to be enriched by his sonic output. Phil is a resident at Waster and the newly crowned king of Friday nights the Hong Kong Gardeners Club. His style encompasses electro, breaks and dirty house and he is known to throw his own mash ups into the mix. Mr. Harvey is guaranteed to ignite the Kiss My Bass dancefloor and is not to be missed for any reason other than a bastard lil curfew tag or full-on manflu/birdflu.

DJ Charge has been a much talked about resident at Portsmouth’s top dnb night Breakneck for a good few years now and also regularly features on the kunninmindz.com radio station. In recent years he has expanded upon the genres covered in his flawless sets and we are bringing him to Kiss My Bass in the form of breakbeat selecta. Expect a build-up hungry and energetic set with no time spare for you to go utilise the porcelain goddess. Bring it on we say.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Kiss My Bass crew will be setting up Kiss My Basscamp at Bestival as of tomorrow morning. Normal service may be resumed after the comedown. Maybe.

It’s almost upon us, so once last push to enlist your friends, make some plans and get down to what looks to be our biggest party yet. Why not lob on some freaky clothes and a reflective foil hat made from a colander like that geezer in Eastenders did?

Rember it all kicks of at 2000HRS and when KMB’s “kicks” we mean it; dancefloor breaks, electro and house from the get go so finish up one of the final days of “summer” and get in there for a boogie.
