You may now recognise the name from their involvement with Brap.FM but we haven’t really introduced these lads properly. Kick Drum Kids (or KDK) are a duo from Portsmouth, UK consisting of Matt Horrocks and Liam Dee: both well versed on the local scene and now looking to take it to the next level nationally and internationally. First efforts have proved fruitful with sellout gigs in England and Wales so far and a few guest radio slots, not least our own. KDK are back on Brap.FM this Monday 2000GMT so to get you lubed up we thought we’d drop you their promo mixtape. Maybe a slight departure for KMB, there’s still no doubt that with house this big you can’t help but move your feet. Enjoy.
Monday nights just got a whole lot hotter on Brap.FM. In fact the whole schedule for our favourite internet radio station is brimming with talent right now and with a site redesign it’s time you got yourselves over to www.brap.fm to check it out. Keeping to our involvement though, Monday night 8-10 is the slot where you will now find Kiss My Bass, Analogue and 10 Ton on rotation. So that’s all kinds of bassline business from electro to dubstep through breaks, house and an awful lot more.
Elite Force continues his rampage of ridiculously good tunes with another freebie remix. After his floor destroying TC/Caspa re-fix and top work remixing Datsik it seems only right that he tackled another dubstep biggie: Caspa. Use the widget below to grab yourself a copy of the excellent 26 Basslines.
No stranger to the blog and the odd Kiss My Bass club night, Phil Harvey is known for his multi-genre assault on the sound system which makes him perfectly suited to the task at hand. As a guest with fellow Waster residents on our local radio station Express FM, Phil was asked to create a mix specific to a year. Another KMB favourite, Mele has a few more bits for us to devour. One is a track with a familiar vocal refrain and the other is his latest mix. The mixtape is for the Truants blog so instead of linking directly we’ll steer you towards their page so you can check out some of the other lush bits there. As ever though Mele is on top form, displaying depth and breadth that many thrice his age cannot muster.
