After an amazing 3/4 of a year partying at the Havana Bar, Kiss My Bass is moving on to bigger things with a new venue with a later licence, bigger production on all levels and bigger names, starting with one of the biggest around – MEAT KATIE.

Mark Pember aka Meat Katie has long been a fixture on the breakbeat scene as both a DJ and producer and in the last few years his unique brand of tech-funk that takes influence from tech and tribal house, techno and electro, but with his trademark breakbeat feel, has really kicked off, with both house and breaks DJs citing him as one of the most consistent players out there. His genre defying sound is also reflected in his DJ sets which have seen him support the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Asian Dub Foundations, Death In Vegas, Layo and Bushwaka and Basement Jaxx to name but a few. He has also toured Australia with Gatecrasher, the U.S. and Canada extensively and played to crowds in many of the worlds biggest cities.

On the recording front Mark has had releases on many a fine label including Kingsize Records, TCR, Bedrock, Lot49 and his own label Whole 9 Yards which boasts an impressive roster of talent such as Elite Force, Dylan Rhymes, Phil Kieran and Hyper. Mark’s long history in music includes time spent recording for Wall Of Sound and RS Records and during his time he has worked on remixes for artists including Arthur Baker, U.N.K.L.E, Boy George and Pepe Deluxe.

His previous album releases have seen him receive press features and interviews from just about every dance music magazine going and a few others to boot. His blurring of the lines between house music, breaks and techno has made him a pioneer both as a DJ and producer and gained him respect from a wide ranging music fanbase. Take all this in and it is simple to see why in 2006 he walked away with the ‘outstanding contribution to breakbeat’ gong at the Breakspoll Awards.

Our second guest for this party is Neil Doc, a man who does a lot behind the scenes to help make Kiss My Bass work and also happens to be a tip-top DJ. He is a fussy lad when it comes to choosing the right selection but as much as this stresses him out it works out pretty good for those on the dancefloor! As per usual we will also have the quality of the Kiss My Bass residents warming things up and getting the place buzzing. This is a big name in an intimate venue so make sure you grab a ticket while you got the chance!

Udy on Brap.FM: Monthly 2 hour show with guests…

Published by Udy on February 16, 2009

Hey guys, back on brap.fm for my monthly 2 hour show. I’ve got tons and tons of new electro stuff but expect all the usual mix of house, breaks, dubstep, fidget, bassline, electro and techno.

All going well this should be the start of a slight format change where I have a guest on to bring some tunes and have a slight chatter. Mr. Sammy C should be joining me and bringing whatever is setting his world alight right now. He’s an enthusiastic lad so expect some good noise.

8PM-10PM
