After Midnight

Published by Udy on July 29, 2009

Describing themselves as a “powerhouse DJ duo” After Midnight hail from LA and specialize in, well, the point is they don’t specialize in anything. Multi-genre mixtapes, remixes and DJ sets is the name of the game and they have been well received by both the crowds they play for and the big name talent they support. Scoff if you may but these guys have already shared the bill with Tiga, James Murphy and LAZRtag.

Their Myspace page features all their mixtapes, each one different to the last as well as a slew of badass remixes in the player. I happened to stumble across this remix in particular and is nothing more than a massive big room remix of an already gigantic tune. Lay it down and watch the people go silly.

Mr Vega – Live Dance Then Die *FREE ALBUM*

Published by Udy on July 17, 2009

We first introduced you to Mr Vega a while back with a superb mixtape. Well he’s been hard at work on this great slice of action. A mix up of hip-hop influenced bassline and electro house with tech bits and robo voices. Vega has seen considerable heat on the blog seen for some great remixes and it seems people are lapping up this release too. So not one to sit on such things he has decided to put the album out COMPLETELY FREE. What follows is two of my favourite tracks to sample and the link to the full album.

Buju Ben – Double Take Mix Pt.1

Published by Udy on July 16, 2009

Friend of the blog and general hip youngster (?) Buju Ben has been kind enough to slap another bass heavy mixtape our way.  Poppy dubstep wobble with plenty of housey bangers too if you know the sound KMB love then you’ll know what to expect.

LP – Breakzmix

Published by Udy on July 14, 2009

LP are a DJ duo playing the deeper darker side of Drum & Bass, a bit of Dubstep & Breakz too. They run a monthly Live Drum n Bass / Dubstep event called ‘Analogue’ which is also branching out into Thursday night boutique sessions at Southsea’s Drift bar (home of the next KMB event). I’m playing for them this week and they were kind enough to send over this cheeky little breaks mix. A heavy dose of bassline sounds with a few added beeps n whirls should do the trick!

Franz Ferdinand – No You Girls (Foamo Remix)

Published by Udy on July 9, 2009

No doubt this one will be all over the net before you can say Jacqueline but one of our favourite producers Foamo has been kind enough to pass on this exclusive remix of Franz Ferdinand’s No You Girls. There’s been plenty of remixes of this track (as with most FF tracks) and this is one that was intended as an official remix but Mr. Time got on top of our man. He’s been spinning it to good effect more recently so decided to spread the love. Top man!
