As you have probably realised by now, we like to throw parties all over the community and after a few requests and a handful of threats we couldn’t really resist from bringing the noise to the heart of Southsea, Albert Road. As per standard we will be transforming the venue and bringing in our own professional lighting and soundsystem and you can always expect top tune selection, a healthy splattering of wonkiness and the epic vibes that you lot create when you put your heads together.

This month’s guests come in the shape of Ignition and Buju Ben. Ignition is an Infectious Breaks / Out-Break resident plus promotional warlord who has held numerous residencies across the city since 1996. Ignition has been influenced by many styles over the years from house to hardcore to trance but now finds himself dedicated to the heaviest of breakbeat.

Buju Ben has been creating music for many years, being involved in the Under Your Nose project and with his band Swampglow. His mixtapes are regular on the KMB website so it’s a real treat to get him in the flesh. Expect a dancefloor fusion of bassline house and dubstep flavoured wobble business.

Joining our guests are the Kiss My Bass residents, well-known djs on the local scene who blend a mixture of breaks, electronica, techfunk and bassline – Udy, Vol.1, Neil Doc and Fotza.

Kry Wolf – Mucky OUT NOW – plus stream these exclusive mixes…

Published by admin on September 25, 2009

After much waiting the official release of Kry Wolf’s Mucky has now hit the shops on the Sounds of Sumo label. This act from the South of England are blowing up big style, with festival appearances and remix requests all over the shop. Their boisterous sound is exactly what the dance floors are demanding right now and the cheekiness of the vocal combines with their anthemic quality. Oh and the basslines are MASSIVE.

Make sure you get over to the BEATPORT PAGE for this release and buy yourselves the EP. Official remixes come from High Rankin and Mosca, I’ve heard them both out and along with the original they kick. Also find here on Kiss My Bass a preview of the exclusive remixes from Udy and SDM.

Udachi & Jubilee – Paypur (Mr Vega Remix)

Published by admin on September 22, 2009

Now we’re by no means hot off the press with this one but it would have been a crime to have not posted this at some point. Friend of the blog and the creator of the first official release for Kiss My Bass Recordings (more on that later) Mr Vega has taken the already gigantic ‘Paypur’ and slapped a load of his characteristics all over it. Electro house styled patterns with truly grinding synths, our man just gets better and better.

Mungo Baobab & Udy Feat. Dominique Young Unique – Hot Girl

Published by admin on September 15, 2009

There’s nothing like introducing a new name to the world and in a way Mungo Baobab is exactly that. Previously involved in the Under Your Nose project, this talented producer has picked up tools again and put together this bassline crunk monster with myself. The track is Hot Girl and has more squelch than a 5 day old yoghurt. Grab yourself the MP3 and spread the word, Mungo Baobab is a name you can expect to see plenty of in the future.

Skunk Anansie – Because Of You (Duke Dumont Remix)

Published by Udy on September 12, 2009

It certainly seems we have a preference for all things remix here but as we keep stumbling across great re-works why the hell not. Although no doubt this could work on the dancefloor, Duke Dumont has created a track that is equally listening experience with electronica leanings. Skunk Anansie are back on the road this year which may or may not be your thing, regardless the promotional tip from bands always leads towards remixes so keep em peeled for more.

Udy Music is born

Published by Udy on September 11, 2009

After a number of false starts and experiments Udy Music is now fully born. Nothing fancy, the website will provide interested parties with easy access to my free music as well as the ability to stream official releases. The website will feature my bio, stock photos, current bookings, contact details and an ongoing blog from myself. I felt the need to separate my own promotion from that of Kiss My Bass as although no doubt I will still post my tracks and mixes here I don’t want my work to be the focus of it. I also felt the need to provide a place other than the Myspace to access my information as some people have remarked that I am hard to find on the web (a fact which some of those sick of my ’spam’ will find hard to believe).

Filthy Rehab back once again

Published by Udy on September 11, 2009

Indeed it wasn’t that long ago we posted the exclusive La Roux remix from WoNK and the Filthy Rehab boys and reading that post will lead you to their respective Myspace pages. However Filthy Rehab can’t keep away from a cheeky bootleg (I feel your pain boys) and forwarded over a few more for our perusal. My personal favourite is the Samim – Heater remix, a popular tune in itself and another I’d never really found a version I was happy with playing. The other is M Beat feat. General Levy – Incredible, utter silliness but built for a massive crowd response and it does exactly that. Enjoy the rave.
