Drop The Lime Clashmusic Podcast

Drop The Lime

Drop The Lime

New York’s Trouble and Bass crew rule the roost when it comes to the low end on the other side of the dear pond. Featuring a slew of well known names in the scene, Drop The Lime is but one of them. His new podcast for the Clash Music is rather up the alley of Kiss My Bass, not least because of its fusing of rave sounds, wobbly basslines and catchy vocals. Obviously what nails it for us though is the inclusion of the Udy remix of Mr Vega’s “I Came To, You Came To”: our very first release on Kiss My Bass Recordings.

Get over to the Clash Music Drop The Lime podcast page to read an interview with the man himself where you’ll have to sign up to grab the mix. We notice it’s been re-posted over on Carpe Noctem though, so you can always get it there. Not that Clash Music isn’t well worth signing up for with previous podcasts from the likes of Booka Shade, Tiga and Claude Von Stroke.

Remember, KMBREC001 is available to buy from the 9th of November and we see that Juno, HMV and Amazon.com already have pages ready for it.

Here’s the remix in question to stream and don’t forget you can hear all versions on our bln.kr page. All versions except for the secret remix being released for FREE on release date that is ;)

We’ll do a full press release style blog post nearer release (Nov 9th 2009 incidentally) but here is the final and original mix from the first release on Kiss My Bass recordings. We’ve already had some great DJ feedback for the package and are planning some awesome future releases. For now enjoy the track that started it all, a party banger and no mistake!

Listen again to Monday’s show + grab some of the tracks…

Monday night’s Kiss My Bass show for Void Radio on Brap.FM was a right stinker. The chat room filled up and we managed to fit in absolutely tons of tracks from all over.

You can listen again to the show over at the KMB BRAP RADIO ARCHIVE.

A number of the artists played have already been featured here on the blog, including the excellent Crash Overdrive and Mungo Baobab, however we thought we’d be kind and chuck you a couple more in the form of the excellent bootleg from Chady & Young Nutz and our own Udy’s take on Liquid’s classic Sweet Harmony.

Mungo Baobab – Dub Bomb

Published by admin on October 18, 2009

The mighty Baobab strikes back! This man knows how to rock a low frequency and we can fully confirm that dance floors love both of these mixes. The original is a dubstep style number and the Udy remix houses it up a little. Get them downloaded by clicking the little down arrow to the right of the players and whack em in your sets and/or playlists! WARNING: naughty swear words.

Kiss My Bass @ Halloween Overload on Spitbank Fort

Published by admin on October 18, 2009

Kiss My Bass and Tribal Medicine are co-hosting a room at the legendary Overload event from Contact this halloween, Saturday 31st October. Between the two promotional forces there will be everything from breaks to dubstep to electro to dnb and all-round general wonkiness covered. Everyone loves a good excuse to dress up, pour a couple of litres of fake blood over their chevvy chase and act a bit more mental than you can get away with on your average night out so where better to partake in such behaviour than at this beast of a party on the Spitbank Fort – a man-made military island a mile out in The Solent.

Over 30 top DJs, over 10 hours of music, over 50,000 watts of booming Funktion One sound systems across 3 arenas of anything and everything including house, electro, trance, techno, harddance, hardcore, gabba dubstep and dnb plus a chill out area and a network of dungeons to explore. What more convincing do you need?!!

The djs bringing you bass-heavy sounds in the Kiss My Bass / Tribal Medicine room are…

FOTZA vs DIRTBOX
UDY (tbc)

Ricky Vaughn remixes KMBREC001

Published by admin on October 14, 2009

Grab an earful of the ever mysterious Ricky Vaughn’s remix from the first EP. It’s a looping tech monster and no mistake. As ever if it’s your back please share through the relevant channels and prime your wallet for November 9th ;)

Crash Overdrive

Published by Udy on October 11, 2009

Vince Fierro, aka Crash Overdrive, is a hungry young house producer from California. The scope and variety of his productions is not to be messed with and from the few we’ve been sent these are my favourites.

Hips, Lips & Microchips is a cool electro number with masses of crossover dance floor potential. A grinding guitar style bassline, a sassy vocal and plenty of squeeks n bleeps. Architecture VI is peak time looping housey techno madness, big parps and a soulful groove: absolutely love this one.

Watch out for his Retake The Streets EP out soon on Briefcase Rockers…
