Knob Jockeys Minimix – Drenk!!

Those that tuned into our monthly foray on Brap.FM will have heard the most awesome premier of the latest Knob Jockeys Minimix and maybe even taken part in guessing the theme. Fotza – Breaksteppin’ Barndance Mix

Electro Wars + Snaggletooth on official mixtape

As ever the use of genre definition continues to spark argument across the internet and I’m sure this will do nothing to quash it. Electro Wars is a documentary making its debut at Miami WMC this week and charts the meteoric rise of ‘blog house’ and its like across the world. It shows a vast swathe of hip-hop producers getting on board and looks back at the origins of electro in the hip-hop movement. No doubt the genre nazis will be all over it saying what is and what isn’t electro, hip-hop, house or whatever but I feel that’s not the point. The artists featured in the trailer are responsible for some great music which has captured a certain zeitgeist feel. Here it is:

Brap Profile: POoK

There’s so much DJ talent over on Brap.FM it only seems right to introduce you to the cream of the crop slowly. Top of my list is POoK’s The Beatroute Sessions which can be found 2000-22000 GMT every Wednesday night. No stranger to the way of the bass, POoK’s show is Breakspoll nominated and features a slew of styles very much in tune with our own, in fact many of his selections end up in my own sets. Shows are lively, varied and the chat room is always busy for his show. A nice touch is also themed shows and chat room challenges and of course the news at the top of the 2100 hour. One such themed show is the one you can listen to here, a show based around the new album from hero of the day Elite Force, previous shows covering Breakspoll nominations and ‘What The F@#k is Fidget?’.
