Lee Mortimer Vs M&S – Bootsoul Nugget

Published by Udy on May 25, 2010

Keeping his foot on the web promotion pedal, Lee Mortimer promised to give this track out when it hit 3500 plays on Youtube. Thanks to his army of fans (us included) sharing it like mad in desperation to get hold of the track that time has now come! I can’t get enough of old disco tracks jacked up for a ravey dance floor. Feel free to call me shallow.

Plump DJs take Kelis up north

It cannot be argued that those good ol Plumps aint kings of the party. Their disco infused party breaks mish mash sound has had dance floors jumping for years and years and all here at Kiss My Bass have been fortunate enough to get on down to them at one time or another. Here they’ve taken that Kelis track that everybody is furiously masturbating over, added the best track The Beatles ever made and plenty of their own bassy goodness. It’s good. But don’t take my word for it, grab your free copy here!

Calvertron

Followers of bass should be no strangers to the mighty Calvertron, making a mockery of dancefloors all over the shop with his highly ravey sound. As part of their promo drive for their latest release Calvertron & N-Ton’s ‘Up & Down’, Jack Knife Records have been kind enough to provide us with a freebie mash up from the Calvmeister himself. The new release has already been spun on Kissy Sell Out’s Radio One show and also has support from DJ Zinc, A1 Bassline, Jelo, Plump DJs and many more. The track we provide you with is a mash up of a previous Jack Knife release with some big name vocals. Enjoy.

Udy – Click Clack

Published by Udy on April 29, 2010

It doesn’t happen very often but I’ve finished a new original track. Seems like all that remixing has paid off though, learned a good few tricks and well happy with this. It’s not signed for release at the moment, just testing the water so let me know your thoughts on the comments.

WoNK and WoNKed get remix happy – new track AND competition

Published by Udy on April 19, 2010

Friend of the blog and fidget queen WoNK is not one you could call a slacker. Her own output and that of her 3 month old label is prolific, starting with its roots in what one may now be able to describe as a ‘classic’ fidget sound but now expanding and including many bassy house touches. Her remix for The Only can pretty much be described at searing electro house and is nothing less than a well crafted peaktime banger. Find here a clip of it and a link to buy it on Beatport.

As mentioned the WoNKed label also has a remix competition on the go, open to all comers. Here’s some words from them…

Yo,

Party People, DJ’s and in particularly Producers….. Up and Coming, Established and those of you just starting out. We at WoNKED records would like to thank you all for your support over the first 3 months of our existence and to celebrate we will be running a remix competition.

As we want you guys on the remix we put it out to a general vote for which track of the many releases to date you guys would like to remix and it was unanimous. Wonk’s – Don’t Give Up Disco was the most popular track that people wanted so that’s the line we decided to take!
Not sure if you are aware but this was the labels highest charting record on Beatport so you have a little bit to live up to…
Here is a link to the original track .. BEATPORT LINK

Anyway, we will be putting the parts out for you guys to get stuck into over the course of the month and the top 2 remixes will get released when we re release the original later in the year!

Closing date for entries is May 10th

All we ask is that you send your remix to our Soundcloud drop box (www.soundcloud.com/wonked-records) and add your producer name, full name and a contact email address in order for us to contact you.
Peace and Love

Cut La Roc feat Fangs – Deathstar (Udy Remix)

Published by Udy on April 14, 2010

Remix for the second single from Cut La Roc’s Larger Than Life album. It features the vocal talents of Fangs. The original is quite a downbeat and dirty track so I decided to aim it squarely at the dance floor (collective gasp of astonishment).

The track is due out 30th May on Rocstar Recordings with a Juno exclusive two weeks prior, will update the buy links when the time comes!

High Rankin stuff

Published by Udy on April 13, 2010

We like High Rankin. Not in the slightest bit predicable his tracks and mixes cover a range of styles and he’s able to pull off humour in his music without appearing cheesy. Here’s a new bootleg from himself and Evolve or Die as well as his most recent DJ mix. You can also follow the link to buy his awesome bootylicious remix of Deekline & Dustin Hulton’s Apple Bottom (featuring Sporty-O).
